Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about PantryPages, how it works, and our content processing practices.

Content & Ownership

Does PantryPages own the recipes I add?

No, PantryPages does not own the recipes you add. We process content from URLs you choose to share, but we don't claim ownership of that content. The original creators retain their rights, and we maintain proper attribution to the source.

Can I share processed recipes with others?

Processed recipes are for your personal use only. Instead of sharing processed content, we encourage you to share the original recipe URL with others. This supports the original creators and ensures proper attribution.

What happens to the original recipe source?

Original recipe sources are preserved and displayed in the app. We maintain the original URL, website attribution, and creator information. You can always click through to visit the original source.

Is my recipe data shared with third parties?

Your processed recipes are stored locally on your device and are not shared with third parties. The only exception is when you add a recipe - the content is sent to OpenAI for AI-powered processing to standardize formatting. This is explained in detail in our Privacy Policy.

How PantryPages Works

How does PantryPages process recipes?

When you provide a recipe URL, PantryPages downloads the content from that specific webpage, extracts the recipe information, and uses AI to standardize the formatting. The processed recipe is then stored locally on your device for easy access and organization.

What types of recipe websites work with PantryPages?

PantryPages works with most recipe websites and blogs. Our AI can extract recipe information from various formats and layouts. However, some websites with complex structures or those that block content processing may not work as well.

Can I add recipes from any website?

You should only add recipes from websites you have permission to access and use. Always respect the original website's terms of service and copyright. We recommend using recipes from public recipe websites and blogs.

What happens if a recipe website changes or goes offline?

Once a recipe is processed and stored locally on your device, it remains accessible even if the original website changes or goes offline. However, the link to the original source may no longer work.

Privacy & Data

Where is my recipe data stored?

All your processed recipes are stored locally on your device. We don't store your recipe data on our servers. This means your recipes are private and only accessible to you.

Can I delete my recipe data?

Yes, you have complete control over your data. You can delete individual recipes or all your data at any time through the app settings. When you delete data, it's permanently removed from your device.

Does PantryPages track my usage?

We collect minimal usage data to improve the app's performance and user experience. This includes basic analytics about app usage, but not the content of your recipes. You can find detailed information in our Privacy Policy.

Is my data backed up?

Your recipe data is stored locally on your device. We recommend using your device's backup features (like iCloud for iOS devices) to ensure your recipes are safely backed up.
